A Time Management Tip You Can Implement Today

Where is your mobile device right now?  In this day and age, it seems like our cell phones are often within a one-foot radius of us.  As helpful as mobile devices are, they also have the potential to distract us and waste time.  Between phone calls, text messages, and pop-up notifications, wasted seconds quickly turn into wasted minutes.
You’re in luck because our team has a quick time management tip that you can implement immediately.  It sounds simple, but try setting aside time to silence your phone and store it out of your eyesight.  When you cannot hear or see notifications on your phone, your mind is able to truly focus on the task at hand and produce better work.  
Try this trick for 30 minutes a day and see how it improves your ability to focus. You can take it a step further and try turning off all of the notifications on your computer too!

Share part of your inbox with your assistant so you can efficiently delegate email responses to your assistant.
Just because your email comes to your phone, you don’t need to respond immediately. Schedule specific times to check email.
Use unexpected free time wisely – while waiting in line or sitting in traffic, have a list of things you can do then.
When someone gives you a business card, make notes on the back to jog your memory later. Notes might include when you met, what you discussed, potential relationship, etc.
To reduce digital clutter, unsubscribe to email newsletters you don’t read.
For large, time-consuming tasks, break them down into smaller sub-tasks and spread them out over the day or week.
When organizing your office, imagine a semi‐circle around you when you sit at your desk. Place the supplies you use most often inside this space so they will always be within reach when needed.
Never plan every minute of your day – add buffer time to your day for the unexpected tasks that pop up.
Create a system for processing business cards you receive. Try delegating the data entry portion of the task to an assistant or intern.
